Jesse Feder ACSM-CPT, CSCS

American College of Sports Medicine-Certified Personal Trainer
National Strength and Conditioning Association-Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist

Jesse Feder is a graduate from the University of Florida with a Bachelors of Science degree in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology with a specialty in Exercises Physiology. He is a certified personal trainer by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM-CPT) and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA-CSCS). He is currently pursuing his Masters Degree in Dietetics and Nutrition at Florida International University to become a Licensed and Registered Dietitian (LDN/RDN) and an undergraduate adjunct lecturer.

Jesse’s interest in personal training and health and wellness stemmed from his need for a safe space to relieve stress as a child growing up in a challenging environment. As he focused more on his training routine, he began to realize the benefits of exercise on one’s mental state, mood, health, and overall quality of life. He wanted to translate the positive feelings he received from exercising to others by educating them on how to create a sustainable training program and a healthy eating habit to improve the long-term quality of their lives. As a part of his passion for health and wellness, Jesse is a firm believer and advocate for preventive medicine. He believes that wellness and preventive care should be as equally important as the many subfields of medicine in order to maintain a long-term, active and healthy lifestyle.

Aside from his educational and professional achievements, Jesse has competed in 2 spartan races, played varsity tennis and basketball for 4 years. He also competed in the crossfit open for 4 years during his undergrad from which he narrowed his focus to compete in Olympic lifting. In his junior year of college, he successfully qualified for the university nationals in Olympic lifting. He eventually took a break from lifting and got into swimming and hit a personal goal of swimming a mile. Today, he likes to crosstrain and incorporate a large variety of resistance and endurance training into his weekly routine. During his downtime, he loves spending time outdoors with his dog, Henry, or at the beach with family.

I am a local PT in a different specialty and always refer clients who need one-on-one, tailored orthopedic physical therapy to Defy. The feedback I get from patients is that they are personable, professional, with great attention to detail and amazing customer service. They have had excellent results from athletes trying to recover from injury, to patients trying to avoid surgery, to people wanting to maintain fitness and age well. Kelsey and Tara have built an amazing reputation in the community and are a valuable resource to other providers like me, who want to recommend the best to our patients.

Tara is most spectacular. She looks at full body (and not just one area of obvious pain) to figure out the source of muscle tightness to develop effective exercises. I had 2 knee replacements and Tara took me that extra mile to bring me back to the level of mobility I wanted. I am so grateful for her analytical ability and her caring attitude. Tara is simply the best. She has my deepest gratitude.
